Requirements for Commercial Driver Licenses in Alabama

⚠️
PROPOSED LEGISLATIONThis bill has been introduced but has NOT been signed into law. Legislative proposals may be amended, passed, or fail to advance. This is not current law.

This proposed bill would require certain commercial driver license holders in Alabama to possess United States work authorization and demonstrate proficiency in the English language. It also establishes procedures for impounding vehicles operated by those without proper documentation, and creates offenses for presenting false foreign commercial driver licenses or operating a commercial motor vehicle without required documents. Penalties are provided for these offenses. This change would affect commercial drivers who operate within Alabama.
