Proposed Health Information Technology Fund for Maine

This proposed bill would establish a new fund called the Health Information Technology Fund. This fund is intended to support a state-designated statewide health information exchange in Maine. Before this proposal, there was no such specific fund or mandate for a statewide health information exchange supported by the state of Maine. If enacted, healthcare providers and technology companies involved in health information exchanges would be affected as they could potentially benefit from funding provided through this new fund. The effective date is not specified.
