Proposed Probationary Period for Public Safety Dispatchers

This proposed bill would establish a one-year probationary period for public safety dispatchers in Maine. Before this change, there was no specified probationary period for these positions. If enacted, the new rule would affect all newly hired public safety dispatchers who will now serve a year-long probation before becoming permanent employees. The effective date of this proposed law is not yet known.
