Governor's Consultation Requirement for Medical Examiner Board Appointments

⚠️
PROPOSED LEGISLATIONThis bill has been introduced but has NOT been signed into law. Legislative proposals may be amended, passed, or fail to advance. This is not current law.

This proposed bill would change how the governor makes appointments to the board of medical examiners in Tennessee. Before this change, the governor was required to consult with medical groups when making these appointments. If passed, the new rule would allow but not require the governor to seek input from these groups. This affects the process by which members are appointed to the board and could impact the diversity of perspectives considered during appointments.
