Increase in Ephedrine and Pseudoephedrine Purchase Limits

⚠️
PROPOSED LEGISLATIONThis bill has been introduced but has NOT been signed into law. Legislative proposals may be amended, passed, or fail to advance. This is not current law.

This proposed bill would increase the amount of over-the-counter products containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine that a person can purchase annually from 43.2 grams to 61.2 grams. It also changes references from 'National Precursor Log Exchange' to 'electronic sales tracking system'. Additionally, it requires manufacturers selling these products in Tennessee to pay monthly fees to the administrator of this electronic system. This change affects consumers who buy cold and allergy medications containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine, as well as manufacturers of such products.
