Priority for Water System Loans in Small Tennessee Counties
⚠️
PROPOSED LEGISLATIONThis bill has been introduced but has NOT been signed into law. Legislative proposals may be amended, passed, or fail to advance. This is not current law.
This proposed bill would require the Department of Environment and Conservation in Tennessee to prioritize water system projects located in counties with a population under 57,000 according to the 2020 census or any subsequent census. This change aims to ensure that smaller communities have better access to funding for their water infrastructure needs through loans from the water system revolving loan fund.
