Requirement for Flags at Half-Staff on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

⚠️
PROPOSED LEGISLATIONThis bill has been introduced but has NOT been signed into law. Legislative proposals may be amended, passed, or fail to advance. This is not current law.

This proposed bill would require any flag flown over the state capitol building in Tennessee to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset each December 7, in observance of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Before this change, there was no specific requirement for flags at the state capitol to be flown at half-staff on this day. This would affect those responsible for managing and maintaining the flag display at the Tennessee State Capitol. The effective date is not specified.
