SB 1487 - Current law authorizes the state to appropriate moneys to a county convention and sports complex fund for sports facilities at which a professional sports team plays its home games. This act provides that any professional sports team that leases such sports facility and that announces that such professional sports team is relocating to another state shall impose a surcharge of $50 for each ticket sold for a sporting event hosted by such professional sports team, as well as a surcharge of five percent on every sale made within the sports facility during a sporting event hosted by such professional sports team.
