Clarification of Procedures for Joint Committee on Ways and Means

⚠️
PROPOSED LEGISLATIONThis bill has been introduced but has NOT been signed into law. Legislative proposals may be amended, passed, or fail to advance. This is not current law.

This proposed bill would revise and clarify procedures for the joint committee on ways and means in Tennessee. Before this change, there were less defined rules regarding when hearings should be held or not held by the committee. The new proposal authorizes the committee to issue notice that a hearing will not be held or to hold a hearing specifically to review applications or acceptances of federal aid under $25 million. This affects the joint committee on ways and means, as well as any entities seeking federal aid in Tennessee. The effective date is currently unknown.
