New Law on Mooring Recreational Vessels

Enacted law

This law creates a new Class C misdemeanor offense for mooring a recreational vessel at any one place along the water's edge of a reservoir or within one mile of the water's edge for more than 14 consecutive days. Previously, there was no specific limit on how long a recreational vessel could be moored in these areas. The law affects anyone who owns or operates a recreational vessel and intends to moor it near Tennessee's reservoirs. The exact effective date is not specified.
