Proposed Changes to Legislative Conference Attendance and Allowances

⚠️
PROPOSED LEGISLATIONThis bill has been introduced but has NOT been signed into law. Legislative proposals may be amended, passed, or fail to advance. This is not current law.

This proposed bill would require the speakers of the Tennessee Senate and House of Representatives to determine an equivalent number of legislative conferences or conference days for which members are entitled to attend in order to receive expense and mileage allowances. Before this change, there was no specific requirement for determining these entitlements. The change affects members of the Tennessee General Assembly who rely on these allowances for their attendance at legislative conferences. As it is a proposed bill, its effective date has not been specified.
