Proposed Parental Rights Protection Act
⚠️
PROPOSED LEGISLATIONThis bill has been introduced but has NOT been signed into law. Legislative proposals may be amended, passed, or fail to advance. This is not current law.
This proposed bill would require an expedited hearing if a bond condition imposed affects parental contact, custody, or visitation with a minor child. The aim is to ensure that the bond conditions meet the requirements of the Families' Rights and Responsibilities Act. This change would affect parents who are involved in legal proceedings where their ability to interact with their children might be impacted by bond conditions. If enacted, this bill would amend Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA) Title 36, Chapter 8 and Title 40, Chapter 11.
